There are always weddings happening every minute of every day around the world. This little fact is something that is on my mind today. What moments could I be photographing right now if I were in the right spot at the right time? What would the wedding entail? Where would it take place? Who's story would I be telling? It's sometimes a day-dreaming ponder of mine and while I wish with a snap of a finger I could be always be doing exactly what I want to be doing it isn't always the case. On Saturday February 2nd however, I was doing exactly what I daydream of. I also ponder the deeply opinionated subject of 'what's the most important part of your wedding day?" (Besides marrying your best friend ;) ) I feel obviously it is the photos. It's what you have left after it all, isn't it? The memories captured. The 1/100th of a moment telling your very own personal story. It's. Downright. Important. Karine knows this very well. She having worked with me in the past as the very talented makeup artist for Bruno and Emilies winter wedding takes her job very seriously and her work shows. She did an absolutely stunning job that day. Karine understood what it meant to love weddings, and what it means to create and tell a love story through images. So when she asked me to photograph her on her wedding day I was honoured she asked. Although I did not get to photograph their entire day, she absolutely wanted to make sure she got some candid and formal shots of the two of them along with their bridal party. That we did. And in just 2 hours we were able to capture their laughter and love and really give them something that cannot be duplicated again. Karine and Sylvain absolutely love the decor and romantic feel of Suite 701 situated in lovely Old Montreal. We stayed there and were able to get so many different looks all in one location. I cannot wait to photograph there again.
Congratulations to you both. I am so happy to have had this opportunity. With weddings happening every minute of every day, I got to be a part of yours. And for this I'm forever grateful.
