It all began when I found them on the Fearless Photographers Wedding list, and they met and booked me immediately. I didn't even get a chance to think twice..and was thrilled that they wanted us to shoot their wedding. We completely hit it off which is a must for us. We always say that our clients need to feel absolutely comfortable with us. For then, we can truly tell their story and depict who they really are. It goes without saying that Jean-Philippe and Mercedes were a delight to be with and work with.
Both coming from lawyer backgrounds they are hard workers and value the importance of those who dedicate themselves to their jobs. Mercedes had a soft sweet demeanor, putting me at ease, and making me feel totally comfortable. She's the girl next door, which is no wonder why Jean-Philippe fell for her. Even as we did our engagement session in the Old Port of Montreal, whenever I told them to just 'be'...they knew exactly what I meant. Without explanation, the two of them forgot I was even there. I've got to say, it felt a bit like I was hanging out with friends.... and quite honestly, I was.
Jean-Philippe and Mercedes are a perfect blend of balance. They love their city living but they also love getting away to the country. So it completely made sense that they would have their engagement photos in Old Montreal and then their marriage in Sutton Quebec. A beautiful recipe for lovely images :) . They chose a Bed & Breakfast which was not just any B&B. Situated on a hill overlooking the gorgeous hills of the Eastern Townships this venue is unlike any other B&B I've ever seen. As you'll see from the pictures, it was truly breathtaking. If you're looking for an incredible retreat, away from it all Le Domaine Tomali-Maniatyn IS the place to go.
As Mercedes walked down the aisle, Jean Philippe had a calm look about him, but with true happiness. It always gets me as the bride is coming down the aisle, and it's happened more than once where I get a bit choked up. I can't help it! I kept my calm and by the end of the night, we made more friends from their wedding. It's true what they say- we're only as good as the company we keep and my they sure do keep amazing company.
Congrats to the both of you. I cannot wait to see more pics from Bali and even more than that, cannot wait to see you both again, perhaps enjoy a glass of vino to celebrate your marriage one more time. I mean hey, why not ;)
